Friends of Laupus Library
For over 55 years Laupus Library has served a large and diverse constituency of students, researchers, practitioners and citizens of eastern North Carolina. In 2009, the Friends of Laupus Library was established in an effort to enhance our mission of providing access to quality information for healthcare education, service and research.
The Friends of Laupus Library provide much needed advocacy and support of the Library, the health sciences community and East Carolina University through participation in Friends programs, special events, and awareness activities. Friends are the Library's "alumni" and serve as ambassadors by sharing information about our programs and resources to the community and organizations beyond the Library and the university.
We hope you will join us in this important endeavor as you enjoy fellowship with other Friends and learn more about the contributions of Laupus Library to the growth and success of the medical and health sciences community at ECU and throughout eastern North Carolina. One of the main events that the Friends of Laupus Library sponsor each year is the Health Sciences Author Recognition Awards (HSAR). HSAR is Laupus' way to pay tribute to our many health sciences authors who have expanded and enriched the cholarly culture of ECU and the reputation of the Health Sciences through the publication of peer reviewed works.
